Kenneth G. Huggins, DVM

Dr. Kenneth G. Huggins is the former owner of Stanley Veterinary Clinic. He has cared for pets at the hospital for nearly 40 years and continues to treat patients.

Dr. Huggins attended Kansas State University and majored in Arts and Sciences. He was accepted into Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine before completing his undergraduate degree. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1966 and was the recipient of the Small Animal Practitioner award while in school. Dr. Huggins completed internships at Kansas State University and Leawood Animal Hospital while in veterinary school.

He is an active member of numerous of professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, The International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Huggins has published four research articles on xylazine in Modern Veterinary Practice.

Dr. Huggins and his wife, Carole, are the proud parents of three children and six grandchildren. The newest addition to the Huggins household is an orange tabby cat named Marco Polo who can be found either running around causing a ruckus, or cuddling up and taking a nap with Dr. Huggins or his wife. A member of the Blue Valley Optimist Club and the Presbyterian Church of Stanley, he enjoys hiking, fishing, scuba diving, bicycling and reading in his spare time.
