Ellie Petree, DVM
Dr. Ellie Petree was born and raised in Kansas City where her passion for animals started at a young age. She grew up with a Cocker Spaniel and leased and rode horses throughout school and volunteered at the local pet shelter Wayside Waifs.
She then pursued higher education at Creighton University, in Omaha Nebraska where she worked at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium as a penguin keeper intern and even spent one summer as a dolphin trainer in St. Augustine, Florida. She also worked at a small animal clinic as a veterinary assistant!
After graduating from Creighton with a bachelor’s in biology, she then went on to pursue veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She was an active member in the Wildlife Medical Clinic, Feline Club, Animal Behavior Club, and worked as a client service representative at the small animal emergency clinic. She is also Fear Free Certified in Canine, Feline, and Avian Medicine! In addition, she has a special interest in feline behavior and geriatric medicine.
Dr. Petree lives with her 3 cats and a hamster! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, biking, and being outdoors.
