Alexandre Silva, DVM, BVM, Residency Trained in Small Animal Surgery (Brazil)
Dr. Alexandre Silva is a general practitioner at Stanley Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Silva attended the Federal University of Espirito Santo in Brazil and received his bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM) in 2013. He worked as a general practitioner until he started his Small Animal Surgical Residency at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil until 2015.
He was a visiting veterinarian at the Small Animal Surgical Residency program at Cornell University and participated as an Orthopedic Fellow at Cornell University, researching Total Hip Replacement and Stifle Diseases in 2016. Dr. Silva has been working in the veterinary field in the USA as a technician and completed the Educational Commision for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) certification program created by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in 2020 validating his diploma and receiving his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the USA.
He has been at Stanley Veterinary Clinic since February of 2020. Orthopedic, neurology, and soft tissue surgeries are among Dr. Silva’s professional interests. He is a member of the AOVET (A global network of surgeons, scientists, and other professionals highly specialized in the field of veterinary surgery of the musculoskeletal system) and also a member of the ABNV (Brazilian Veterinary Neurology Association).
Married to his beloved wife Natalia, Dr. Silva is the proud father of 2 little girls. The family also includes a rescued American bully named Hope and a cat rescued in Brazil named Joker. When he’s not busy caring for pets at the hospital, Dr. Silva enjoys staying with friends and helping others as a Pastor in the Healing House Ministry. He also enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, spending time with his family and doing the famous Brazilian Barbecue.
